Shaun is an inspirational speaker and internationally celebrated, multi-award-winning teacher trainer who has been facilitating LGBT+ inclusive learning communities since 2009.

Shaun has trained many thousands of primary, secondary and faith school education professionals in the U.K. and overseas, breaking new ground in the primary and faith school sector especially, via his pioneering and multi-award-winning compassion-based approach, originally called ‘Inclusion For All’ but now rebranded and refreshed as ‘Celebrating Difference.’ Shaun was widely reported in the national press as one of the first ‘out’ gay primary school leaders in the U.K. when leading a campaign on enabling LGBT+ staff to be their authentic selves at work.

Shaun’s continuing vision is to make communities safer, more inclusive and successful environments for all stakeholders via high quality training for schools and initial teacher training faculties.

Shaun is a survivor of sustained child-hood homophobic bullying; he recounts his moving, inspiring and ultimately hopeful journey ‘from surviving to thriving’ to countless young people around the world.

Shaun has supported teacher trade unions such as the National Association of Headteachers, national anti-bullying organisations such as Show Racism The Red Card, human rights organisations such as Amnesty International, child safety organisations such as the NSPCC, LGBT+ organisations such as Stonewall and faith organisations such as the Church of England. Shaun has advised at government level in the U.K. and overseas.

Shaun’s work has featured on the BBC, CBBC, ITV, Europe One Television. He has written for The Times Educational Supplement, The Guardian, Teach Primary, Gay Star News and The Huffington Post.

Shaun was named one of the 100 most influential LGBT+ people in the U.K. and designated a ‘Point of Light’ by the U.K. Prime Minister for services to both LGBT+ and education communities.

An emotive and skilled presenter, Shaun delivers after dinner talks, LGBT+ Pride speeches and panels. Shaun has delivered Diversity and Inclusion sessions in global businesses including HSBC, Lloyds and Barclays.
